Welcome to One Green Sheep, the little knitting and crochet design company I started a couple of years ago. I am a Mum of three daughters with a science background and a severe addiction to yarn (my husband tells me I nearly have enough to insulate the house, but I think there is room for more).
I was taught to crochet at the age of 6 by my maternal grandmother, and to knit at 7 and I haven’t stopped. My childhood was spent playing with yarn – mostly leftover bits of bright colour. By the age of 9 I had moved to crocheting fine cotton and making table runners and dressing table sets for my mother’s friends – the 70’s were great! It was a super way to earn extra pocket money.
While the girls were young I started to design my own patterns (and make myself write them down). One Green Sheep is about my love of New Zealand yarns. We have some amazing merinos, perfect possum and cuddly alpaca yarns just waiting to be touched, squished and worn.
I design patterns for Countrywide Yarns, as well as for One Green Sheep. I run learn to crochet and knit classes when there is interest – so message me through the Facebook page or send me an email (firstname.lastname@example.org).
My website is here to give you inspiration. You can purchase my patterns as pdf files through my shop or a printed copy at your local yarn shop.
You’re welcome to contact me via email (email@example.com) if you need more information, want to learn a new knitting or crocheting skill, have a design idea you want a pattern for or want to buy a One Green Sheep pattern.
